CACI International Network Operator - Hawaii in Wahiawa, Hawaii
Opportunity for an experienced Network Operator to join team in Hawaii in support of IC customer.
RESPONSIBILITIES in this position may include:
Plans, tests, recommends, and implements network, file server, mainframe, and workstation hardware and software. Consults with users and evaluates requirements, recommend designs, provide cost analyses, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation of networks.
Develops network performance criteria and measurement methods. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities. Responsible for the planning and management of large network and telecommunications projects or significant segments of a large complex project. Analyzes and resolves technical problems for new and established networks. Provides network documentation, training, and guidance to computing system clients and programmers.
Serves as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies. Troubleshoots and resolves complex network production problems. Conducts technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.
Recommends network solutions for short-, medium-, and long-range network projects. Installs, configures and maintains network components. Determines plan layout for new hardware or modifications to existing layout. Installs, upgrades, and configures network printing, directory structures, user access, security, software, and file services. Establishes user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
Works as a team member with other technical staff, such as systems to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. Works with vendors to resolve complex network problems. Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network. Documents network problems and resolutions for future reference. Provides team leadership to less experience analyst.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor’s degree and seven to nine years of telecommunication analysis experience.
Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
