Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager. The mission of this position is to lead delivery of Construction Services’ projects in Poland and ensure the projects are delivered to Clients’ satisfaction, in time, within the budget and with performance criteria achieved.

Job Duties

  • Plan, staff and supervise business activities across projects under his/her control.

  • Provide appropriate specialist direction and human resource planning to help meet projects delivery targets.

  • Support CS Commercial Director in pursuing and negotiating new work opportunities in line with specific Business Unit plans.

  • Lead projects mobilization and start-up plans for newly secured projects and temporarily undertake project manager/ implementation manager’s role until permanent staff is mobilized.

  • Forge positive working relationships with Clients, Professional Advisers, Local Authorities and other Statutory bodies.

  • Actively coordinate and confer with professional staff to resolve operating problems and difficulties.

  • Take an active lead and support project teams in critical problems’ solving during delivery of the projects.

  • Implement and monitor consistent across whole business project/construction management and quality control policies and procedures.

  • Develop and maintain through quality communications and effective leadership an effective and competent management team.

  • Undertake performance management for all direct reporting managers and set a standard in the management of performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • Higher education with construction related degree, preferably in Civil Engineering.

  • Proficiency in English (good knowledge of German will be an advantage).

  • Experience in the successful delivery and management of EPCM, PM/CM projects. Experience as Contractor will be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of the Construction Industry and associated commercial operations.

  • Good technical, organizational, dynamic leadership, communication and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work in changeable environment, within complex project organization structures.

  • Ability to conduct meetings with subordinates, contractors, Client, Client’s appointed consultant’s, present and defend strategies/solutions.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to respect and be respected.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Must be capable of demonstrating the core values of the Company in terms of Respect, Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity and Excellence in all interactions that emanate from his/her role.

  • Driving License cat. B

  • Experience in the successful delivery and management of EPCM, PM/CM projects. Experience as Contractor will be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Statutory License for Site supervision or Design will be an advantage.
