Bank of America Attorney- Consumer Small Business Banking in Washington, District Of Columbia
Provides general legal counsel to the consumer banking businesses, as well as specific advice on products, services and certain legal actions. Reviews legal contracts and documents. Directly, or through staff, conducts legal research. May represent the bank in legal actions. Individuals in this position typically have a minimum of five years of experience since admission to the Bar
Attorney will advise the small business banking group on compliance matters arising under regulations administered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, including Regulations B, E, DD, and Z, as well as credit reporting issues.
Attorney will review, comment on, and advise on proposed and final federal and state laws and regulations.
Attorney will review marketing disclosures and other materials for compliance with marketing rules, including UDAAP.
Attorney will advise on, and assist in the resolution of, customer complaints and disputes, and assist in litigation matters.
Attorney will survey and analyze state laws and federal and state case law.
Attorney will draft and negotiate agreements with third-party service providers.
This position is posted as a more senior position but is flexible to be filled as a lower level position if the posted qualifications are met by a strong lower level applicant.
Minimum of 4 years experience advising financial institutions on regulations applicable to consumer financial services, with expertise in Regulations B, DD, E, and Z administered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Must have JD or LLM
Must be admitted to at least one state bar (active/good standing)
Experience with regulatory examinations and handling of litigation matters is a plus.
Law firm or In-house experience in a financial institution is desirable.
