POSITION SUMMARY:

Candidates will support the Department of Homeland Security, National Protection & Programs Directorate (NPPD), Federal Protective Service’s (FPS) to enhance their mission capabilities in protecting buildings, grounds and property owned, occupied, or secured by the Federal Government and persons on the property.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

FPS focuses on reducing the vulnerability of Federal facilities to criminal terrorist threats, while ensuring the facilities are safe and secure for employees and visitors. The mission of the Threat Management Division (TMD) within FPS is to lead and support the federal, state and local territorial, and private sector partners in securing the homeland, defending the citizenry, and protecting critical infrastructure by accessing, integrating, analyzing and sharing timely and relevant intelligence and information. In support of the TMD, the candidate will gather and review information pertaining to the security of Federal facilities and their occupants to include: assessing information from tenant agencies; conducting threat, vulnerability and consequence assessments and recommending countermeasures to protect Federal tenants and mitigate risk. Prepare reports pertaining to the full spectrum of potential threats to Federal facilities to include: Intelligence Bulletins, Assessments and other Products/Reports; Federal Facility Threat Picture Reports; Weekly Intelligence Briefings; Monthly Investigative and Crime Statistics; and Intelligence Information Reports.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience. Must maintain active/current TS/SCI clearances.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years’ relevant experience with Ph.D

7+ years’ relevant experience with Master’s degree

8+ years’ relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree

Must have Active TS with SCI eligibility; current/prior DHS Suitability strongly preferred.

Knowledge of one or more intelligence topics pertaining to homeland security, including but not limited to counterterrorism, infrastructure Protection and/or IP Sectors, cyber security, FEMA and all phases of the intelligence cycle.

Experience with information and/or intelligence requirements management.

Experience with production management for time sensitive analytic products.

Experience in operations or intelligence centers.

Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft® Office® tools. Knowledge of intelligence tools and systems such as the Homeland Security Data Network; the Homeland Top Secret Network and other systems used by NPPD.

Previous experience in intelligence and threat analysis with DHS component agencies, DOD or an intelligence community agency required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face. Some travel may be required. May spend a lot of time standing due to laboratory conditions.
