Aetna collaborates with a variety of innovative strategic partners within the healthcare ecosystem to deliver products to the market. These products may be focused on serving the employer or health insurance plan sponsor, the consumer, or both. In some instances, the product is primarily supported by an external strategic partner; in others, the strategic partner contributes a meaningful and critical ingredient to Aetnas product offering. These products and strategic partner relationships are managed by the Partner Product Management team.
The Partner Product Management team collaborates with strategic partners to design, build, integrate, and commercialize products that drive revenue growth and deliver value to Aetnas clients and members. A significant responsibility of the Partner Product Management team is to deliver products through third party distribution channel partners who use private benefit exchange platforms such as Aon, Gallagher, Liazon, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, etc.
The Product Manager, Partner Distribution Exchange Platforms role will be responsible for collaborating with those third party distribution channel partners to design and deliver differentiated products. The successful candidate is a product management professional who has experience with managing external strategic partnerships.
Work with our strategic channel partners to understand market needs and buyer personas, align strategies between the respective organizations, understand how Aetna can position our products to win market share within their channel.
Builds a thoughtful business case to substantiate and justify new or enhancement product development investments.
Employ product concept gate framework.
Clearly defines scope, ascertains Level of Effort estimates, budget approvals, and guides through prioritization processes.
Responsible for building a product roadmap, prioritization, and rationale for phasing iterations in the product development cycle.
Builds a prudent timeline and project plan for the full product development life cycle.
Collaboratively works with and directs other Aetna cross-functional stakeholders to ensure support and adequate integration within other areas of the business operations.
Employ product launch gate framework.
Conduct contract negotiations, particularly with respect to pricing, branding, channel conflict resolution, and service level agreements.
Directs other Aetna stakeholders such as Underwriting and Actuary, Procurement, and Legal.
Defines the reporting and Key Performance Indicators to ensure accountability and success.
Continually evaluates opportunities to improve product performance in the market.
Healthcare background, preference toward familiarity with exchange platforms
Minimum 5 years of experience
Successfully brought a product from concept to market launch
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with an external strategic partner
Proven problem solving & critical thinking skills
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
