Job Summary

AECOM’s Environment Business Line is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Team Lead to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The appropriately qualified candidate will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative multinational team focused on delivery of superior services to our clients. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for project delivery of the Winnipeg geotechnical team

  • Provide technical expertise in support of on-going AECOM geotechnical projects

  • Work with other senior level staff to provide services for current and prospective clients, and actively participate in local and regional collaborative opportunities

  • Actively participate in business development activities by identifying opportunities, supporting proposal efforts, and developing winning strategies

  • Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants and external agencies

  • Conduct technical review and undertake analysis and design for geotechnical components related to highway and railway projects, utilities, building structures, energy and mining projects, and other civil infrastructure projects

  • Mentor and coach the geotechnical team

  • People management responsibilities will include championing of AECOM programs such as safety, quality management and performance management

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of geotechnical experience

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Manitoba and Saskatchewan or eligibility to register

  • Previous leadership or people management experience

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage time effectively

  • Willingness to work flexible hours under a variety of conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering

  • 15+ years of geotechnical experience in Western Canada

  • Proven track record in developing and sustaining client relationships in the Manitoba market
