Provides guidance and organization to staff engaged in various engineering assignments and projects. Applies sound knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle. Leads teams in the creation of design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service. Verifies design using analysis and or functional testing, interprets results, drives decisions and assesses risk. Works with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues. Evaluates customer needs and aligns requirements with identified customer expectations. May fill the role of a subsystem team leader, concurrent engineering team leader or a local technical functional excellence leader.
Leads a small technical group with minimum supervision.
Provides guidance, sets expectations, clarifies responsibilities, and provides feedback for project team members in accomplishing tasks and goals.
Participates as a key contributor and assigns work to meet group commitments.
Influences at department or program management level.
Provides input on program-related decisions.
Proposes innovative initiatives and projects.
Contributes to the solution of complex technical problems; provides resources, removes barriers and ensures application of common approaches.
Demonstrates depth of knowledge of engineering discipline(s) and leverages expertise on other projects.
Identifies developmental needs of group members.
Assists with the transfer of knowledge; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.
Give engineering support to plant operation
Manage engineering system to make continuous improvement per plan
Allocate resource to support plant issue and give valuable instruction from engineering point of view
Eng. system support on VPC and VPI
Solve plant issue occurred by engineering in effective and systematic way
Strengthen global cooperation with global peers
Work with Purchasing and SQI team to improve the quality of outsourced parts.
Work with Manufacturing and Quality to achieve quality, reliability and manufacturability targets.
Be responsible for CPS routine work, such as ECR, ECO and ERN, etc.
Give training to cross function for basic PLM system knowledge
Other responsibilities assigned by manager.
Manufacturing Processes - Able to or experience with supporting manufacturing processes line changes including outsourcing, machining, assembly, and production test ensuring product quality needs are met while developing a repeatable, cost effective manufacturing process. Experience in working with purchasing to develop qualified suppliers and capable of developing or modifying sourcing standards.
Systems Definition And Design - Understands and able to apply the basics of the system design process including requirements allocation and architecture, capability determination through system modeling and testing including Integrated Design Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (iDFMEA).
Manage Execution - Demonstrated results indicating deep knowledge of managing execution. Coordinates performance across regions, teams, and departments on complex projects and work flows. Applies a broad range of planning and monitoring tools. Defines planning and review practices that result in few missed milestones and minimal surprises. Effectively delegates to ensure completion of complex projects and work. Monitors progress of others and redirects efforts when goals change or are not met. Measures effectiveness of execution through defined metrics and disciplined monitoring.
Design For Six Sigma - At the core of Design for Six Sigma is a process based on critical parameter management and statistical management using a capability growth index. Obtained a trained Green Belt or trained Black Belt certification.
Issue Management - Ability to identify and resolve exceptions to the project plan. Able to managing project change, and continually balancing/re-balancing the project plan triangle of scope, schedule and resources, and following-up on the countermeasures and action items to implement. Uses flexibility and innovation to find creative solutions, as well as being able to effectively manage leadership to get clear commitments.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
PhD, Masters of Science, Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in engineering required.
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required, such as responsibility for several components of a project or a complex component of a project.
5-8 years or more experience in machinery engineering
Proven management skill for people development and team management
Strong knowledge background with engineering standard , data management and PLM system
Hard working & carefully with good sense of responsibility.
Good communication skills, initiative and teamwork spirits.
Very familiar with office software (Excel, Power point and Word)
Good skills in speaking, Listening and writing English.
