What’s the role?

Reporting to our Production Chemistry Process Chemistry Team Lead, you’ll become a valuable part of multi-disciplinary asset and project development teams. Tackling a wide range of technical production chemistry challenges, it’s a chance to deepen your industry knowledge and experience, and develop your leadership skills.

You’ll be seen as a role model for good practice and valued for your expertise. From day to day, you’ll work closely with colleagues on our North Sea Oil & Gas teams to guide a variety of areas, including:

  • Identifying risks and providing chemical and non-chemical solutions for field development projects and operating assets.

  • Providing production chemistry expertise input to the design and operation of development and decommissioning projects

  • Proactively contributing to HSE activities; sharing learnings on chemicals HSE management and other aspects.

It’s a refreshingly collaborative role . As well as cultivating fruitful working relationships with decision-makers in production, you’ll work closely with chemical suppliers and third-party vendors, setting their priorities; you’ll also take good care of our links with legislative authorities.

What we need from you

You’ll call on a Masters degree (or equivalent) in a science subject, ideally chemical engineering or chemistry coupled with wide experience in an oil and gas industry role. Beyond that, we’re keen to hear from men and women whose CVs include as many of the following as possible:

  • Good upstream production operations knowledge

  • Skills spanning process chemistry, chemical aspects of flow assurance and associated operations

  • Working knowledge of liquid hydrocarbon and gas processing/operation

  • Contract management experience

  • General IT skills

  • Auditing skills for management of chemical supply and services contracts, laboratory operations and business processes.

Personally, we’re looking for someone proactive and assertive who has shown they can work effectively on their own initiative. A capable communicator, you enjoy networking with a variety of people from other technical disciplines.
