About the role

In your role ofDuty Manager, you will be responsible for Guest Relations and Security andresponsible for all aspects of the hotel in the absence of the GeneralManager. You will provide exceptionalservice by engaging guests from arrival to departure, and respond to allrequests, inquiries and complaints during their stay. Reporting to the FrontOffice Manager, you will enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-pacedenvironment, on a rotating shift basis.


  • Ensurea consistently high standard of customer service is delivered by all teammembers
  • Superviseday-to-day operations ensuring standards are adhered to and maintained
  • Bevisible in the hotel lobby and other public areas, particularly during busytimes
  • Engageguests in conversation and provide general assistance, as requested
  • Handlemanagement issues or emergencies that may arise and respond appropriately
  • Beavailable to support the front desk with check ins, check outs and conciergewith luggage & valet parking
  • Handleguest requests, inquiries and complaints, be the point of contact in theabsence of department managers
  • Meetand greet VIP guests upon arrival, where required
  • Monitor Guestsatisfaction reports and implement actions to improve results
  • Ensure team membersmaintain a professional manner and are up to date with VIP guest movements,hotel events, local attractions and activities


  • Adegree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent
  • ProvideFirst Aid Certificate
  • Aminimum of 2 years of Front Office supervisory experience or previous experience as a Duty Manager in afive star hotel essential
  • Provenexperience with dealing in emergency response including the ability to workunder stressful emergency situations
  • Fluentin the English language in order to communicate professionally with guests andteam members, both in person and over the telephone
  • Be available to worka variety of shifts including; weekends, days, afternoons, evenings and nightsover 7 days
  • Provenleadership, inter-personal, training and development skills
  • Apassion for delivering exceptional guest experiences with proven experience inservice recovery
  • Computerliterate with knowledge of hotel property management systems, ONQ experience highlydesirable
  • Demonstratedability to resolve problems and conflict, and work efficiently under pressure
  • Well-presented,organised and calm personality
