About the role

This position isresponsible for the conversion of all room sales enquiries through excellentcustomer service and efficient use of OnQ Property Management System andDelphi. In particular this positiontakes responsibility for tour groups and special events, while ensuring guestsreceive optimum service. You will act as a leader forteam members, coaching and bringing out their best work.

  • Ensure the completion of the administration of all group tour bookings, from contracts to entering rooming lists
  • Maximise groups revenue through proactive selling and commercial management techniques adhering to the group yield policy
  • Maintain a high customer service focus by approaching the job with the customers always in mind
  • Work with the Sales & Events team to maximise corporate and group rates
  • Process all group and conference reservations and prepare any auxiliary requirements as needed
  • Client liaison incorporating site inspections, coordination with tour escorts, complaint handling, group check-ins and check outs
  • Ensure the correct and accurate inputting of all information in regards to segment codes, package plans, rates etc. in accordance to Hilton Adelaide’s standards
  • Maintaining an up to date filing system incorporating contracts, group arrivals and pertinent correspondence
  • Follow up any offers/options/regrets/cancelled bookings
  • Convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales
  • Respond to all guest enquiries within 24 hours
  • Develop future and repeat business, contributing to the profitability of the hotel
  • Handle all customer enquiries with a professional telephone manner and demonstrate high standards of customer service
  • Focus on a consistently executed upselling approach
  • Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs


  • Demonstrated previous managerial or supervisory experience inReservations/Groups & Tours
  • Strong selling skills and understandthe processes to close the sale
  • Fluent in the English language inorder to communicate professionally with guests and team members, both inperson and over the telephone
  • A passion for delivering exceptionalguest experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to resolveproblems and conflict, and work effectively under pressure
  • Exceptional organisational andadministration skills
  • High level of IT skills
  • Well-presented and calm personality

It would beadvantageous for you to demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Demonstratedexperience working in reservations or guest service agent positions within ahotel
  • Knowledgeof hotel property management systems and Delphi
