Fuels Marketing Analyst (West)
No. of Positions:
This position will act as a dedicated resource for the Fuels Marketing team to drive successful implementation of fuels marketing initiatives at the local level and review and asses brand performance across new and existing markets within the western district of India.
Channel Marketing Management:
Combines understanding of channel dynamics with customer needs and buying behaviors to define routes to market which deliver sustainable value for both Shell and channel partners.
Spends time with channel partners on site and within trade area to understand their perspectives and needs
Works alongside sales & network planners to gather intelligence about the buying behaviors and priorities of different customers in new & existing trade areas to help identify key drivers influencing them
Helps gather information about the competitive environment in the local market, including competitor price monitoring
Customer Offer Development
Develops differentiated customer offers which delight customers and deliver sustainable competitive advantage and support fuel volume delivery
Provides information and analysis as briefed to identify opportunities that deliver the annual marketing plan objectives.
Supports cross-functional work to develop a robust route to market activity that is customer centric
Provides the information and analysis to evaluate the viability of customer offers and to construct commercial cases where necessary
Aware and adheres to legal compliance of the process to follow in the relevant Line of Business
Supports Fuels Brand Development & Management journey to create communication assets that are distinctive, relevant and highly valued versus competitors, driving preference and strengthening Shell’s position in the market particularly in new to industry areas for the busines
Ensure seamless and consistent execution of the brand of every touch point.
Follows Shell VI guidelines and works collaboratively with key partners to deliver a consistent brand identity.
Understands the key drivers of brand health and how they are measured and leveraging these drivers to create an offer to customer
Delivers excellent execution of the annual marketing plan across the district as per calendar
- Serve as the regional SPOC for Fuels marketing for all new site openings and deployment of planned activities across the district, while working with members from Sales & Operations and Network Planning

The following qualifications are a must:
2-3 years’ prior experience in a Marketing role within a retail oil & gas company- ideally retail fuels marketing
Prior experience in collaborating with regional business teams to drive on ground implementation of strategy
Experience in handling external agency partners and vendors
Adept with analysis and strong Microsoft office tool kit skills particularly excel
