Occidental Petroleum Instrument Advisor in Al Dhahira, Oman
Title: Instrument Advisor Location: Oman-Al Dhahira-Safah Other Locations:
The Instrument Technical Advisor will be responsible for managing and directing the technical quality within the Instrument sections. He will be actively employed in field activities; be expected to, and be capable of displaying his technical expertise to the Electrical and Instrument teams.
The Instrument Technical Advisor responsibilities include but not limited to:
Monitor, control and take part in directing the quality of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities carried out by E&I teams.
Develop, review and update E&I maintenance job plans, while simultaneously ensuring that these associated activities are professionally carried out in the field.
Review all technical original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals and advise the maintenance team members on their technical content.
Take part and support the Maintenance Department (MNT) by providing input in project design review studies, and by managing the interface between MNT and Facilities Department.
Provide input into the present maintenance budgets and control systems by affording direction and advice to the respective account holders on financial management and regulation.
Represent and support the E&I teams in technical discussion and communications with Vendors and equipment suppliers.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for all major or recurring equipment failures and ensure that the resultant action logs and failure reports are expertly reported and filed for future reference.
In association with the Material Coordinator, prepare and maintain the Spare Parts Strategy and perform spare parts analyses.
Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures within areas of accountability to ensure that they meet corporate requirements, changes in regulations, lessons learned, best practices, and organizational changes.
Own reliability KPIs and put action plan to improve the reliability of equipment.
Assure that all maintenance field activities are carried out in a qualified manner, that safety awareness is apparent in the field and that all HES regulations are adhered to.
College Diploma in Engineering.
Minimum of 15 years experience in oil & gas environment including vibration analysis, reciprocating compressor condition monitoring.
Minimum of 6 years experience in operations & Knowledge on superior gas engines and superior reciprocating compressors is an advantage.
Knowledge on superior gas engines and superior reciprocating compressors is an advantage.
Knowledge on RCA, PM and CM procedures
Knowledge on CMMS systems, Maximo and Oracle
Ability to specify and identify inventory levels and consumable requirements
Ability to supervise and work in a multi national and discipline team and relate well with people
Self starter, deals well with ambiguity
Relates well to people and can effectively manage an operating staff of various skill levels
Well conversant with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
