Position Summary:

The Human Resource Manager leads daily HR practices and processes. S/he supports business needs and ensures the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives designed by HR Director and HR Corporate while promoting AutoZone values and enabling business success through human resources management, including recruitment, performance management, training & development, employment cycle changes, talent management, and employee relations.

I - Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities- Other duties may be assigned:

  • Creates, implements, and measures strategic Human Resources programs and services to increase employee engagement and retention

  • Plans and organizes Human Resources department activities and participates in developing department goals, objectives and programs

  • Uses data and analysis to solve complex and strategic challenges to improve the organizational overall performance

  • Oversees the efficient administration of human resources policies and programs to ensure the personnel needs of all ALLDATA employees are met.

  • Communicates and works closely with Corporate for HR Programs include benefits, compensation, workers’ compensation, EEO, FMLA, ADA, LOAs, headcount, WOTC and unemployment hearings.

  • Manages the various stages and complex process of LOAs, Interactive Dialogue, ADA/FEHA accommodation requests in accordance to the federal and state laws.

  • Conducts recruitment efforts, interviews and identifies talent from traditional and non-traditional sources consistent with company policy and employment laws and regulations to ensure ALLDATA has the human resources to meet Company requirements.

  • Leverage advanced HR knowledge and skills to assist in designing and executing Performance Management programs and other HR programs to identify talent for succession planning.

  • Ensures all HR initiatives and goals are met in accordance with Corporate objectives.

  • Coordinates with Corporate Headquarters to resolve ALLDATA inquiries and ensures proper application of all compensation and benefits programs.

  • Assists HRD in the training and onboarding function, including proper orientation to ensure employees perform jobs in an efficient manner in accordance with Company procedures.

  • Manages employee relations, conducts investigations as needed, provides interpretation to managers on company’s policies and provides sound HR recommendations.

  • Assists HRD and HR Team in special projects and coordinates Company functions and community projects.

  • Works closely with the HRD, Corporate Human Resources, Corporate Legal and appropriate Business Management in coordinating the investigation of policy violations, and determining the appropriate disciplinary action.

  • Travels to headquarter, conferences, job fairs, and other functions; some out of state and overnight travel is required

  • Demonstrates financial management skills, business maturity and commitment to HR initiatives & projects due dates II Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/related field

  • 7+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience in a professional/office settingis required

  • Demonstrated excellent knowledge/experience of Federal and CA State employment laws and other government compliance regulations required

  • Exceptional ability to manage LOAs, ADA, FEHA, organizational performance and effectiveness, complex employee relations and other employee matters

  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making and analytical skills

  • Outstanding ability to build trust, understand business acumens and be an effective Manager to Operations Managers.

  • Experience with HRIS systems and ability to translate data to business concepts

  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills with ability to rapidly shift priorities and manage competing demands

  • Profound knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Strong Presentation Skills required

  • Must be Team-oriented and able to multi-task and work harmoniously with others

  • Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures III - Supervisory Responsibility: The Human Resources Manager supervises the following positions:

  • Receptionist IV - Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.

  • Must continuously stand or walk. Regularly carry requirement lifting/handling/carrying training and other material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).

  • The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

  • Most of the time is spent communicating via voice, using hands to fingers to dial and use phones, typing on computer and reading messages from a monitor or a hard copy documents.
