What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s SMB Product & Innovation team is in search of an energetic, inquisitive Manager responsible for driving an executable strategy and strategic roadmap. Our main charter is quite literally to help set the SMB segment portfolio strategy & direction for one of the largest US SMB technology providers, Verizon.

You must be constantly willing to constructively challenge conventional wisdom andtraditional consumer or enterprise focus, helping to ideate and validate both potential new portfolios and business models pertinent to the SMB sector. With minimal guidance, you must also be able to conduct strategic meetings with Verizon leaders, partners and customers to frame out our strategic direction and identify product concepts to differentiate Verizon in the SMB space. This includes finding exciting new business models or partnership opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct key product teams to drive and manage key initiatives to SMB strategy

  • Establish and drive SMB segment and sub-segment oriented roadmap with stakeholders

  • Engage with strategic partners in ongoing business development / alliance and partnership management activities including identifying innovative new product concepts by combining Verizon’s traditional strengths with partner capabilities, identifying joint marketing efforts and organizing internal reviews

  • Evaluate key focus areas from a competitive standpoint and identify areas of opportunity

  • High visibility position with significant opportunity to advocate product concepts before senior management

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Five or more yearsin technology, strategy, product management, sales/marketing, operations and/or online enablement. Preference will be given to individuals without telecommunications domain expertise.

  • Entrepreneurial orientation and abilities - An individual who can function effectively and drive desired results in a fluid, fast-moving and competitive business environment characterized by rapid change

  • Experience leading teams, both internal and external, across larges lines of business, that are outside of immediate area of responsibility

  • Demonstrate capabilities in extrapolating business strategies, market sizing and risk analysis with some guidance from management

  • In depth knowledge of the SMB segment, including technology, financial services, pending innovations, marketing / pricing strategies, business models & regulatory issues is a plus

  • High level of verbal and communication skills, with ability to articulate company strategy to internal teams and to strategic partners

  • Ability to identify internal capabilities/assets and work with internal teams to create new business models addressing changing dynamics in the industry

  • Collaboration skills and the ability to lead a matrix team through leadership level to a common, executable model

  • High level of facilitation, presentation and communication skills for all levels of management throughout the organization
