The Test Publishing Technician is on the staff of the Test Construction and Publishing (TCP) Team. The Test Publishing Technician works as a member of the TCP team with Quality Assurance staff, other Test Publishing technicians and team leaders to create and maintain content rich data bases that support Computer Based Tests. The Test Publishing Technician builds Item Banks and Computer Based Tests and supporting materials according to program specifications, working on multiple projects simultaneously. This individual plans and completes assigned tasks in accordance with every deadline.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Uses knowledge of available software to most effectively produce each job

  • Uses advance knowledge of software to create and format complicated technical documents.

  • Performs miscellaneous word processing tasks, as assigned

  • Migrates and converts items and images from MS Word documents to database format

  • Maintains multiple databases and data input of test items

  • Organizes data based on program and content area specifications and makes recommendations as needed

  • Utilizes strong technical skills to easily learn and apply new features that support production needs

  • Coordinates entry of statistical data using data entry and import functions

  • Builds Computer Based tests using test maps and blueprints for test publishing with Pearson VUE

  • Works cooperatively with other departments and vendor partners to meet client driven deadlines

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and document management skills

  • Proficiency with databases, MS Word and Excel

  • Understanding of relational databases

  • Ability to learn technologies and software easily

  • Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills

  • Experience in computer based content management

  • Experience with test publishing a plus

  • Detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat Professional, CERTS (SQL dbase), Snag–It
