Where you fit in

As a Research Chemist, you’re going to be an important part of the EOR/IOR Technology Organization, part of the wider Hydrocarbon Recovery Technology group in Shell Projects and Technology in Shell Technology Center Amsterdam (STCA).

Your primary area of support will be on progressing research projects on chemically Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) with specific focus on the use of polymers for sweep and conformance improvement to generate business value for Shell according to stage gate review and commercial needs.

What’s the role?

Key to your role will be execution of the research programs at STCA, assist in steering the technical programs, and supervision of laboratory experimental work.

We’ll be looking to you to showcase your technical and strategic input, excellent communication and relationship skills for the external collaborations with knowledge institutes through the Dutch Polymer Institute (DPI), joint industry projects, and/or polymer vendors, but also with Shell’s business units and joint ventures to keep the research and development aligned with business requirements.

What we need from you

We would like to talk to men and women with a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry or related field. Alternatively, a MSc with specific domain knowledge acquired by work experience would be possible.

We’d also hope to find proficiency in polymer chemistry as well as experience in designing experimental programs in your CV.
