Job Description

I. Primary Function

To be responsible for all delivery routes by managing and dispatching appropriate staff. Secondary function is to act as a reliable communication link between the sales team and customers.

II. Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule all deliveries daily

  • Manage truck load within DOT regulations

  • Maintain adherence to union contracts (where applicable)

  • Maintain RTA compliance

  • Maintain GPS Data

  • Impart safety policies/procedures to staff

  • Maintain adherence of OSHA regulations

  • Plan delivery routes efficiently

  • Schedule appropriate employees/vehicles for deliveries

  • Maintain accurate delivery log book and review weekly

  • Manage customer will-call

  • Act as a conduit between the sales team and customers during deliveries

  • Assist with deliveries when necessary

  • Follow-up with customers to ensure satisfaction

  • Performs other duties as assigned

III. Professional Skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer relations skills

  • Ability to operate all trucks and lifts

  • Time management skills

  • Must have knowledge of OSHA and DOT requirements

  • Knowledge of locale to facilitate well routed deliveries

  • Knowledge of Allied product lines

  • Computer skills

V. Experience

  • Experience with logistics and distribution

  • Experience in the building products industry is preferred

  • Bi-lingual (not required)
