A Clinical Resource Obstetrical Registered Nurse (RN) who renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet patients’ physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to meet the needs of Obstetrical, Gynecological and low risk new born patient needs based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure;coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships. Additional responsibilities include completion of staff schedule, participates in performance evaluations and assists with development of educational needs of staff.

Implements and assesses the daily function of nursing care and services provided in the unit on all shifts. The RN Clinical Resource is supportive and knowledgeable regarding the established standards of care and practice, policies and procedure of the nursing services at Alaska Regional Hospital. The RN Clinical Resource Accountable for maintaining and improving own nursing knowledge and skills (competence). Supports hospital's mission and vision statements and goals.

  • Current State of Alaska licensure as an RNrequired.
  • Current BLS and ACLS Healthcare Provider certification with the American Heart Associationrequired.
  • Knowledge of State of Alaska law, Nurse Practice Act, Federal/regulations and Joint Commission standards

    Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools:

    Other: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course (Association of Women’s health Obstetrical and Neonatal Nursing). Course completion due within one year of hire. Other: S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar and Safe Care, Temperature, Airway, Blood Sugar, Lab and Emotional Support) Course completion due with in one yearof hire.
