A Neonatal Registered Nurse (RN) who renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet Neonatal patients’ physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The Neonatal RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to meet the needs of Neonatal patients and family based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure;coordinates functions with physicians and other departments of the hospital in a spirit that fosters positive working relationships.

LICENSE REQUIRED: Registered Nurse – State of Alaska

BLS, NRP Required

Performs age specific neonate assessments

Assesses age specific safety issues for neonates

Performs venipuncture properly for neonate

Provides supportive communication and interaction with infant’s families.
