The Senior Tax Associate engages directly with the Director of Corporate Tax and other tax team members and is a liaison to the Accounting, Payroll and Legal Departments and Strategic Business Units functioning as a trusted resource for accurate tax reporting and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for Chenega Corporation and majority owned subsidiariesinclude learning and working with team on:
Federal income tax.
State and local incometax, and apportionment.
US Territory tax, all types.
FBAR and FATCA compliance.
Foreign tax,all types.
Indirect tax, all types.
M&A support activities and tax matter integration.
Fixed assets Tax audits and information requests
Assist in management of tax accounts of all types and jurisdictions (open,maintain, close, logins).
Monitor tax law & regulation changes for all US tax jurisdictions and foreign countries Chenega operates in
Assist filing in tax department section on corporate server electroniccopiesof all filed tax returns, supporting workpapers,payments,correspondence,audits, tax account information and logins, and business licenses maintained by taxdepartment
In collaboration with the Tax Director, implement the preparation/review/filing of federal, state, local, territory and foreign income tax returns
In collaboration with the Indirect Tax Manager, implement thepreparation/review/filing indirect tax returns of all types
In collaboration with tax team and other departments,implementand continuously improve the tax reporting processes
Maintains the tax books, by entity, within the FAS fixed asset system maintained by the Accounting Department
Supports tax audit function by collecting and formatting information requested
and collaborating with tax team in the timely resolution of audits and audit issues
Partners in the execution of short-term and long-term tax strategies that reduce overall tax costs/burdens to the Company

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Active CPA license.
Experience with financial reporting requirements.
Minimum years (5)of progressive experience withcorporate tax compliance orfinancial reporting requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in state and local income tax compliance helpful (Nexus, Apportionment, UnitaryPrinciples, Combined and Consolidated Reporting).
Familiarity with Costpoint general ledger accounting system.
Experiencewith FAS or similar tax fixed asset software.
ExperiencewithCheckpoint online tax research service.
Experiencewith tax return software.
ExperiencewithFederal Cost Accounting Standards compliance.
ExperiencewithFederal Acquisition Regulations compliance and governmentcontracts.
Knowledgeof MS Office Suite (Word,Excel)and Adobe products.
