Eaton Corporation Customer Order Engineer in Arden, North Carolina

Eaton’s manufacturing facility located in Arden, NC has an opening for a Customer Order Engineer for the Low Voltage Assemblies (LVA) product line.

This position is responsible for accurately interpreting purchaser specifications and translating them into drawings and bills-of-material understandable by Manufacturing and Purchasing.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application.

  • Consults with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.

  • Coordinates mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.

  • Advises C.O.D., Manufacturing and Purchasing – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements.

  • Consults with the Quality Department in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.

  • Directs purchaser visits to approve or release equipment.

  • Conducts special development/application projects of a complex nature.

  • Informs in cost and cycle time improvement activities.

  • Plans travel as required to support any of the above.

  • Conducts technical training seminars, as required.

  • Provides technical training and guidance to department personnel.

  • Analyzes needs and recommends revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.

  • Other projects as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date by May 2018.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, engineering technology or mechatronics from accredited institution.

  • One (1) year manufacturing experience including internships and co-op assignments.

  • One year electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge power distribution products (LV and MV Switchgear, Panelboards and Switchboards, Motor Control Centers, etc.)
