Eaton has an immediate opening for a MVCA Engineering Manager in Arden, NC.
The MVCA Engineering Manager (Product Line Support) is responsible for providing direction for the Product Line Support (PLS) department and its activities. The Product Line Support department provides design engineering support to internal customers for production, quality, and negotiation needs. The department also provides support to the Eaton general sales force and customers on technical issues, field issue resolution, and aftermarket solutions. This position will also develop standard processes and metrics for measuring the performance of the department.
Implement salary plan and performance appraisals for department designers and product engineers
Maintain and improve processes and structure for assignment and prioritization of PLS engineering projects, including MOL for released product, BidMan and assisting with DA implementation
Maintain processes and structure to enable the Customer Solutions Center to provide 24/7 technical assistance to front-end personnel, Eaton sales force, and customers for MVCA products.
Establish processes and structure to enable resolution of field issues utilizing internal EESS resources, product line support personnel and the warranty department as needed
Supervise development and implementation of cost-out projects for the MVCA product lines
Direct changes in existing product or customer designs to improve performance, quality or component obsolescence.
Supervise development of aftermarket solutions for MVCA products, including retrofit kits
Direct department compliance with plant policy
Provide assistance in the training of Customers, EESS and other Eaton personnel
Create instruction literature updates as needed
Maintain updates to the Application and Firmware for SC9000 EP
Managing the allocation of the engineering resources to meet product line support needs for the MVCA product line is the responsibility of this position.
The position is also accountable for providing technical support to internal and external customers as needed. Post sale support for MVC and MVD. This will involve the following competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in electrical engineering.
Must be legally authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Three years’ experience with electro-mechanical assemblies (MV motor control preferred)
Management of people experience preferred.
Knowledge of Electrical Engineer fundamentals
Strong customer relation skills required
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
