Monsanto has an immediate opening for a

Digital Greenhouse Lead in the Global Breeding division, located in Marana, AZ.

This position is a great opportunity to work on a new, innovative team in

leading company in the agricultural industry. The successful applicant

will work within a multi-disciplinary team to develop, deploy, and support

innovative solutions to accelerate Monsanto’s seeds and traits pipeline.

best-in-class automated greenhouse, requiring the development of innovative

greenhouse automation, equipment, and data systems for high throughput,

scalable seed and plant and processing and analysis.

  • Serve as the Marana site liaison to internal andexternal analytics and IT teams (local and enterprise) to enable development,deployment, and support of greenhouse IT workflows and achieve operational excellence

  • Review experimental protocols and outcomes. Conduct data analysisto improve greenhouse production and efficiency

  • Enable accessibility of key analytics to local and global Monsantopartners, including safety and QMS functions. Create process quality tools anddecision trees as a precursor to integration of advanced analytics

  • Collaborate with analytics and IT teams to develop analytics toolsand predictive models. Integrate site data (from automated equipment,greenhouse operation data, and plant grow metrics) into these models

  • Help site leads and associates develop and monitor Key PerformanceIndicators for all Marana workflows. Use these data and direct observations to prioritizeworkflow improvements, identify root causes for system failures, and automatedecisions for all aspects of di-haploid and trait integration workflows.

Required Education & Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering,Statistics, Comp Bio, Comp Science or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 years experience

  • Experienced with SQL and database navigation

  • Experience as a programmer with R or an equivalentstatistical language

  • Strong data analysis skills utilizing tools such asSpotfire, Tableau, Pipeline Pilot, or SQL

  • Ability to mentor and develop others to becomeproficient users of software tools

  • Demonstrated communication and leadership skills

Desired Education & Skills/Experience:

  • Masters or PhD in Engineering, Statistics, CompBio, Comp Science or a related field

  • Experience in image analytics or phenotyping

  • Experience with machine learning and/or operationsresearch algorithms
