AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Entry Level Hydraulic/Civil Engineer for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the design of one of the most prestige transportation projects in the Washington, D.C. area. We are seeking candidates in the local Washington, DC area.
In this role, entry-level new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out drainage and civil engineering tasks
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Work on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps and data presentation, and report development
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member to Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, grading plans, design storm sewer and culverts, and prepare profiles
Attend client meetings as required
Perform site inspections
Design of roadway projects including collector and local roadways
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equal from an accredited university or college
Ability to work with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, AutoCAD/Civil3D and Microstation
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
HEC-RAS modeling experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to present and discuss technical content with clients, regulatory agency staff, and the public
Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail oriented work, and demonstrate effective time management skills
