The 3D Computer Vision Data Scientist Resource will solve unique client problems using computer vision and will be responsible for supporting the collection of 3D and camera data and the transition and preparation of that data for modeling. The 3D Computer Vision Scientist should be familiar with high-performance 3D vision algorithms supporting: SLAM, LOAM, sensor fusion, point cloud processing (detection and classification of patterns in 3D point clouds), and odometry. The 3D Computer Vision Scientist will be required to design and develop Lidar-based algorithms for feature extraction, scan matching, point registration, and odometry. The 3D Computer Vision Scientist will also be required to support the development of related project deliverables to senior client officials.

Basic Skills & Qualifications:

  • US citizen (no dual citizen)

  • Hands-on experience working with SLAM, structure from motion, and point cloud processing

  • Strong software programming and debugging skills in scripting languages including Python and compiled languages like C, C++, and/or Java (college coursework acceptable)

  • Experience with development environments like: Anaconda, Docker, Jupyter, Git or other version control software (college coursework acceptable)

  • Unix/Linux experience (Debian/RHEL) and comfort with basic shell operations

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Statistics)

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate results and methodologies to a wide audience

  • Excellent documentation habits including code documentation, technical papers, readme files, etc.

  • Experience with large scale data science problems including integration and deployment

  • Highly motivated with excellent team work habits

  • Experience with Lidar systems and sensor fusion (IMU, cameras, Lidars, and accelerometers)

  • Experience with large scale graph optimization

  • Experience with ROS/DDS, OpenCV, PCL

  • Experience developing proof-of-concept prototypes using mobile phone platforms (iOS, Android).

  • M.S. in computer science, data science, electrical engineering, or related discipline

  • Desired coursework (one or more): Image processing, computer vision, robotics, deep learning, machine learning

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
