Job Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Department CISO and Deputy CISO in shaping Department Security Enterprise Architecture

  • Represent CISO organization within the Department for topics relating to Enterprise Security Architecture including Enterprise Architecture Governance Board

  • Assess current state of Security Enterprise Architecture within the Department to determine options for improvement for CISO and Deputy CISO consideration

  • Plan, create and support cyber solutions for a variety of enterprises and information security ecosystems within the Department; educate client executive staff on areas for Department improvement and improved processes

  • Determine security requirements through the evaluation of business strategies and requirements

  • Review architectures and platforms to enhance client capabilities and identify integration issues with current services, technologies, and procedures

  • Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the enterprise security architecture

  • Responsible for completing change requests reviews for security architecture impacts and provide recommendations to CISO and Deputy CISO

  • Provide feedback to design engineers and evaluate end-to-end systems and system-oriented products through their entire life cycle

  • Work with the Infrastructure and Engineering Team Leadership to incorporate improvements to Security Architecture and promote a robust security posture for the Department including in both a private on premises data centers and public cloud offerings

  • Produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings appropriate for senior US government officials

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Cyber Security Management, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or other related field

  • 10+ years of IT and cyber security experience including acting as Security Enterprise Architect in a major corporation and/or large Federal Government Department

  • Experience working independently on multiple tasks while interacting with team members or differing skill levels

  • Understanding and application of IT security operations principles and best practices within a Federal environment

  • Experience advising, developing and implementing an enterprise security architecture and CONOPS within a Federal environment

  • Understanding and application of network security principles and best practices with a Federal environment

  • Understanding of the modern cyber security stack (tools such as Splunk, EnCase, Nessus, McAfee Endpoint Security, and FireEye), how they function and where they fit in an enterprise security architecture

  • Relevant industry certifications - CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, etc.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with IT process optimization, development and implementation

  • Other Technical Certifications: AWS, applicable MS certs, etc.

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
