Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated GIS Analyst for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office. The successful candidate will be a valued collaborator within AECOM's multi-disciplinary transportation and planning practice in the Washington, DC region, based in Arlington, VA. The successful candidate will conduct geospatial and geostatistical analysis for a variety of projects, including public transportation and highways, master development plans, and regional economic analyses.

Other typical activities include:

  • Prepare decision support tools using databases and GIS Software

  • Collaborate with other specialists to conduct complex data analysis and generate superior information graphics

  • Prepare written documentation to support analysis findings and market new potential assignments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in geography, environmental science, economics, or related discipline

  • 4 plus years experience in Geospatial Analysis or comparable academic experience

  • Database software: Proficient in using database software such as SQL Server and Microsoft Access

  • Database Application Use: Knowledge of database concepts, systems, reporting and querying techniques using languages such as Oracle, SQL, MSQuery, PS Query and Access

  • GIS Software: Skill in using GIS software to prepare reports, exhibits and other correspondence

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple parallel activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience or comparable academic experience applying GIS in a transportation planning setting​

  • Computer programming to develop automated queries and customized mapping/data outputs

  • Website development for publication and interactive use of analysis results
