IBM Ariba Process Architect in Armonk, New York

Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Procurement Services (IPS) delivers S2P process expertise to IBM’s external clients as a world-class business process outsourcing (BPO) provider. The Ariba Process Architect is responsible for the identification and enablement of all process related activities during the transition from client to IBM of new outsourcing engagements. The Ariba Process Architect may individually execute or lead a team of process subject matter experts to execute process activities. This is an external client-facing / consulting role that requires up to 75% travel to client office locations.

Key Deliverables/Activities:

  • Develop a Transformation Roadmap identifying potential quick hit, mid-term and long-term initiatives designed to help the client evolve into a desired future state. Initiatives incorporate process and technology components

  • Reviewing and assessing a client’s current state processes, procedures, practices, and policies and completing a Process Maturity Assessment

  • Develop a Transformation Roadmap identifying potential quick hit, mid-term and long-term initiatives designed to help the client evolve into a desired future state. Initiatives incorporate process and technology components

  • Providing policy guidance in an outsourced environment

  • Developing materials for and conducting a Process Development Workshop based on Design Thinking principles

  • Identifying potential Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other transformational opportunities and develop timelines for implementation

  • Identification of suppliers and contracts to enable on the Ariba platform, along with coordination of supplier onboarding

  • Development of collateral necessary to support Ariba enablement program

  • Assembling and leading subject matter experts to assess feasibility of the agreed opportunities

  • Researching, identifying, documenting, and training internal IBM Delivery team about transformational opportunities and initiatives

  • Supporting sales events as needed to present IBM’s transition approach

  • Constructing process and procedure hierarchy comprised of a list of required documentation (Desktop Procedures) required based on IBM owned activities in the Statement of Work

  • Conduct Process Validation Workshop

  • Constructing process and procedure documentation (Desktop Procedures) for activities identified in IBM’s Statement of Work

  • Support Knowledge Transfer activities through a train-the-trainer approach

  • Support all levels of e-procurement testing (e.g. Unit, Integration, & UAT)

  • Offer additional support as required during hypercare period including DTP validation and updates, training reinforcement, and reporting.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 75% is required

  • Familiarity and understanding of procurement processes and practices

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Experience managing small-to-medium scope projects in an agile environment with multiple priorities

  • Deep understanding of procurement transformation opportunities including Robotics, Cognitive Analytics, and Design Thinking & Agile methodology

  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Visio

  • Experience with Ariba supplier network program

  • Experience in designing and mapping complex process flows using a flow chart application

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 6 Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Project and IBM BlueWorks Live

  • Prior experience performing external client-facing work

  • Experience configuring and utilizing workflow portals such as ServiceNow

  • Experience with system design and implementation

  • Understanding of procurement transformation opportunities and methodologies
