IBM Senior Endpoint Security Engineer in ARMONK, New York
IBM Chief Information Office (CIO) is seeking a subject matter expert who will have the technical responsibility to provide steady state support of the IBM BigFix Endpoint Manager patching and rollout service. There will be a project lead to provide direction. This service will cover all 500,00 IBM endpoints including Windows and Linux and is implemented with the IBM BigFix software product. The service is owned by CIO and this individual will be a team member of the BigFix Delivery team. As daily usage and administrator of the BigFix Service knowledge of this service and its usage is very important for the qualified applicant.
The ideal candidate would possess a unique blend of endpoint management and technical skills such as network monitoring, OS level management, standard patching process and IBM standards for security practices such as ITCS*
This job position will be based in Armonk, NY.
Monitoring the daily queue for BigFix and answering questions and requests for service
Verifying all network services and endpoint manager for BigFix is functioning
Reviewing all patching requests to ensure patching is processing accordingly
Working with global support as needed for server outages or failures since the servers are shared across other IBM services
Troubleshooting BigFix failures both for individual customers as well as geos
Driving all issues to resolution
Attending daily standup calls to ensure awareness of activities planned
Working with other internal support teams to ensure BigFix is providing support per normal requirements such as Win10 deployment and ISSI
Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 1 year experience in IBM Endpoint manager/Tivoli endpoint manager
At least 2 years experience in OS level knowledge- Wintel/Linux/Solaris
At least 2 years experience in Network knowledge, preferred with IBM
At least 6 months experience in UNIX Shell, Perl, Java, scripting language
At least 1 year experience in Health Checking Knowledge, standard to IBM
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members and executive management
Strong work ethic with a strong eagerness to learn.
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Experience with large scale PC Global Deployment
At least 3 years experience in OS knowledge, (Wintel/Linux/Solaris)
At least 3 years experience in ITCS104/IBM security standards
At least 3 years experience in Network Knowledge globally
At least 1 year experience in UNIX Shell, Perl, Java, etc
At least 1 year experience in Health Checking Knowledge
