Oracle Director | Utility Customer Products in Ashburn, Virginia

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.

The Job:

We're looking for a leader who combines passion and experience, in software development, product strategy and Utilities, along with an inspiring can do attitude to lead our elite global Product Management team for Customer Operations products.

The Product Management team is responsible for owning the vision and product roadmap for our offerings, writing detailed product requirements, reviewing detailed designs, creating release enablement materials, and assisting with the overall go to market rollout process.

The team is also responsible for supporting various stakeholders including sales, implementation partners and customers to be enabled and successful with our solutions.

This role will work with various other Product Management leads for Cloud, Analytics, Technology and Integrations, to ensure the continued advancement of our offerings as we help Utilities globally to prepare for, and address, the challenges of a rapidly evolving industry, with solutions which are easy to deploy, fast to adapt to new business requirements and flexible to meet the needs of an uncertain future.

The successful candidate will be a self motivator, have a strong Utilities Customer Operations background (including working on market leading products like Oracle Utilities and/or SAP), be good at visualizing big picture solutions, very meticulous in their work and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Own the customer operations vision and detailed feature roadmap

Be the champion of our customer operations software offerings

Be the voice of our utility clients

Lead product releases from conception, thru requirements, build, release and enablement.

Work with Product Marketing and Solution Management to develop the product positioning, value proposition, pricing and go to market proposals

Work with key (internal & external) stakeholders to understand customer, market and strategic requirements and translate them into concise but detailed Product Requirements Documents (PRDs)

Review architectural/design documents, and participate in general technical discussions.

-{PS..1}->Work with Knowledge Management and Product Architecture to build out release and enablement materials to educate stakeholders on the benefits and capabilities of new releases and set them up for success.

About You:

You re good at seeing and understanding the big picture. You can easily put things in perspective, understand how things fit together and manage/prioritize your portfolio accordingly

You are energetic and able to inspire others

You are able to manage complex projects with multiple moving parts and various competing priorities

You have experience launching software solutions through various stages of product management planning and execution

You have excellent oral and written communication skills, able to tailor your message for a wide variety of audiences

You have an enquiring mind and excellent analytical skills

-{PS..3}->You re able to make tough business decisions by employing sound logic, whilst faced with incomplete data, tight deadlines and competing demands

You have a BS degree in Computer Science or comparable professional experience.

You have 5 years experience working with Utilities and customer operations technologies

You have 10 years experience in a software development or implementation role, or related experience

-{PS..4}->Experience developing or implementing SaaS products and technologies is highly preferred

Experience with Agile software methodologies is preferred

Global experience is preferred

Some sales and/or marketing experience is preferred
