FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team
Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, pricing decisions and new initiatives to develop new products and services. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.
Responsible for analyzing, recommending approving and negotiating custom pricing proposals for standard solutions across an assigned set of large, strategic accounts. The team will also support complex renewals, as well as requests for significant T&C modifications. They will perform in-depth financial modeling & risk analysis, and establish price points to ensure margins are aligned with business objectives.
Financial & Business Acumen
Perform detailed business case analysis via the ability to independently create a pricing evaluation model, and recommend, create and approve customer pricing for complex proposals.
Evaluate and analyze based on profitability, competition, market nuances, and account strategy.
Ensure all costs to support the deal are accurately captured and properly reflected in the financial model.
Understand the operation of underlying cost models and modify financial model as required.
Ensure required deliverables are completed in accordance with process guidelines.
Act as Verizon's lead negotiator and decision maker on assigned deals.
Influence or negotiate contracts with internal and external legal teams, customer executives and consultants.
Understand and quickly analyze the impacts associated with changes to the technical solution and contract terms that are suggested during a negotiation and makes appropriate and well thought-out decisions.
Prepare and present detailed financial briefings for internal teams as well as executive management, including discussion of RFP pricing requirements and evaluation criteria, competitive analysis, pricing strategies, and key financial metrics.
Effectively communicate pricing and any custom terms & conditions to internal stakeholders and customers as required.
Create and issue Approval Notes.
Lead training sessions related to product transition initiatives.
Communicate status, updates and issues related to development and process for new product initiatives.
Work closely with key stakeholders (Sales, Presales Billing, Legal, Tax, Regulatory) to ensure the cost/price proposal is compliant, accurate, competitive and profitable.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes.
Maintain accuracy of deal financials.
Ensure adherence with governance processes and obligations; Comply with other guidelines as appropriate.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Project management experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Even better if you have:
A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
Advanced Economics/Finance/Accounting skills; Proficiency in Financial P&L modeling.
Ability to use advanced expertise to resolve diverse/complex problems.
Matters typically lack precedent or standards; can receive broad guidance and be accountable for results.
Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills; ability to make sound business decisions quickly.
Superior communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with customers, senior leaders and employees of all levels.
Self-motivation and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks to meet aggressive deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel.
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Verizon's products/services and value proposition.
Solid understanding of the commercial, financial, regulatory and technical aspects of the industry.
