Focussing on NAM’s production facilities, you’re going to be part of the team that provides support for its vast and highly complex PCD (Process Control Domain) IT infrastructure – IT systems which directly monitor, control and safeguard production operations. This is often referred to in the industry as Operational Technology.

What’s the role?

As Operational Technology Cyber Security Manager, you’re going to be managing a team of IT engineers, with specialisms in the security of network communications that support NAM’s safe and reliable oil and gas production. That means working with production operations and engineering, to protect NAM’s IT systems against threats which can disrupt production operations. From monitoring and safeguarding technical integrity to managing compliance, including facility incident responses.

Much will depend on your ability to understand the business drivers and appetite for risk, along with a sophisticated understanding of the IT technologies used within the PCD. Other duties will include:

Providing supportability & transition assurance to business-led plant modification projects, capital projects and IT projects that deliver into the PCD IT landscape.

Ensuring that the team’s preventive/corrective maintenance visits to production locations are accessible, scheduled and up to date.

As you’ll be managing people within industrial environments, you’ll need to show a thorough understanding of HSSE requirements, along with process and behavioural safety risks. Beyond that, we’ll be looking for excellent people skills that will enable you to effectively nurture working relationships with a range of stakeholders across finance, business and IT.

What we need from you

We’re keen to hear from men and women with IT experience, along with a degree within a relevant discipline. Besides being fluent in English, we’d hope to also see as much of the following on your CV:

  • Extensive experience supporting IT infrastructure services.

  • Solid knowledge of control systems, IT networks, and IT security.

  • Experience with IT and business risk management, plus cybersecurity industry certifications (e.g. GICSP or ISC2 CISSP).

  • Some experience of upstream production and operations, or otherwise experience in industrial and hazardous environments where safety is a key element.

  • Proven understanding of run and maintain practices, reference architecture, technical design and engineering guides, performance standards, and maintenance strategies.
