AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Assistant Project Manager for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office.The Assistant Project Manager for the K-12 CIP Program will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of all projects, studies, initiatives and deliverables assigned to the AECOM Program Management Team.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Reports to the Sr. Project Managers / Field Managers / Controls Manager
Directs management of project closeout Phase
Directs interaction with project managers/ project delivery
Directs interaction with project controls manager/ reporting
Directly assists the Project Manager in managing, coordinating and administering the project through all phases of construction
Assists the project team and ensures project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications
Resolves field initiated questions
Coordinates activities among the field groups
Provides the necessary level of contract management and administrative oversight to achieve the quantitative and qualitative requirements of this contract
Ensures contract requirements are executed at a level equal to or higher than stated standards and shall strive for complete customer satisfaction with all customers
Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships with the goal of maintaining a mutually beneficial business relationship with the District
Accountable for the management, administration, technical correctness, timeliness, and quality of services and products provided under this CIP Program
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Engineering, or other related field
5+ years of experience managing all aspects of building operations on contracts of similar size and scope
Highly motivated self-starter
Prior K12 Experience or Commercial Construction experience
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
CCM Certification (Desired)
Industry recognized certification in Program Management or Facility Management
Progressive Experience in construction design and development, preferably K-12, of which shall include five (5) years of experience of direct management of project managers/ project delivery/ project delivery/ project controls and reporting
Possess highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
Ability to multi-task and identify priority activities
Ability to drive team deliverables in a professionally assertive manner
Demonstrate the ability to manage in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice tasking under high pressure situations
