  • The Custodial Service Worker will be responsible for janitorial services and will keep the facility’s appearance and cleanliness to a high standard for visitors and building occupants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Empty Trash

  • Clean – Wipe Down, Pan and Broom All Elevators

  • Remove scuff marks - terrazzo floors

  • Remove scuff marks and All Stains on elevator floors

  • Mop restroom floors

  • Spot cleaning carpets (food crumbs/stains)

  • Sweep/dust mop floor

  • Vacuum hallways & floors

  • Vacuum floor mats

  • Wiping Off Trash Can and Recycling Bins

  • Clean and shine glass doors

  • Clean, shine, sanitize all door handles

  • Spot clean marks on walls (Bathrooms)

  • Spot clean marks on walls (Other)

  • Remove scuff marks break room floors

  • Restock Custodial Supplies in Storage Room and Closet

  • Shine metal door plates

  • Shine elevators in/out

  • Empty recycling bins

  • Polish all chrome trim (columns, doors, etc.)

  • Clean and shine library doors

  • Scrub clean all surfaces in basement break room

  • Polish all chrome trim (columns, doors, etc.)

  • Vacuum office/cubical areas

  • Dust tunnel pictures on wall and fixtures

  • Dust library fixtures and shelves

  • Clean photo and studio as needed

  • Edge carpet

  • Dust baseboards

  • Dust vending machines

  • Respond to “janitorial emergencies” such as spills or other situations immediately.

  • Provide and display appropriate, neat, and well-kept signs to indicate Danger, Hazardous Floors, etc. as applicable. Such signs shall be displayed at all times in all areas where cleaning operations are in progress. Signs shall be removed when no longer needed.

  • Will ensure furniture is returned to the designated arrangement upon completion of appropriate cleaning tasks and will move furniture and/or furnishings as necessary when cleaning carpeting and flooring.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • High school diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Building must be operated and maintained at a superior level, creating an environment and atmosphere of excellence and graciousness.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Tasks accomplished by shall be done to preclude damage or disfigurement of furniture, equipment and building structures.

  • Work to prioritize workload and delegate the appropriate work to meet the needs of the client/event.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
