Job Summary

CBRE Heery seeks a Design Project Leader for projects for our interiors group in Atlanta, GA.

Expert in all conventional aspects of technical design/architectural principles. Plans and conducts tasks requiring independent judgement in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design techniques and procedures. Builds client relations and supports the Design Director in identifying new opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

All aspects of descriptions of previous titles are incorporated and required for position.

Responsible for the success of a project including design quality, financial management, client satisfaction and team management.

Prepares project proposals and add services with review from Sr Project Lead and Design Director.

Interprets contract and organize staffing/work plan to provide required scope of work.

Assigns team duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.

Identifies and documents additional services for review by the Project Director and approval of client.

Implements and oversees QA/QC process within project schedule.

Primary daily contact with the client.

Conducts design reviews with team to promote innovative design solutions.

Reviews contract documents for completeness and organization.

Prepares and manages manpower budgets, construction/procurement budgets.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

Education and Experience

B.A. or B.F.A. in Interior Design from Council for Interior Design Accreditation curriculum or B.A. in Architecture from accredited architectural curriculum (National Architectural Accrediting Board or Canadian Architectural Certification Board). 7+ years experience.

Certifications and Licenses

NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certification

Reasoning Ability

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees and client groups to take desired action.

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
