Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Compliance Specialist with a background in environmental and regulatory compliance for employment in our Atlanta office to support environmental projects for both private and federal sector clients. This experienced practitioner will be focused on managing clients, directing teams for project/task execution, and supporting our EHS compliance team. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of reports, permit applications, compliance plans, audits, and other technical documents

  • Development of cost estimates and proposals

  • Completes project administration, including client liaison and budget management

  • Complies with and drive the quality management system and health and safety

  • Coordinates and works on specialized EHS projects, environmental compliance programs, and regulatory approval compliance for public and commercial facilities

  • Provides oversight to junior staff in their report preparation, and complete and review reports

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or other relevant scientific discipline

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in environmental compliance to include experience in an operations or staff management role

  • Strong analytical and communications skills

  • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and development and implementation of regulatory compliance programs related to CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, OPA, etc.

  • Excellent technical, time-management, project management, and employee and client relations skills

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, including technical report writing and data evaluation capabilities as well as detailed field (on-site) observations and associated documentation

  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the use of standard software packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Client interaction may be required for this position; therefore, candidate must be able to represent AECOM independently of direct oversight

  • Excellent organizational skills, including being capable of tracking multiple simultaneous deliverables and deadlines, at times for multiple clients

  • Time management skills are critical, as the candidate must be able to meet deadlines and balance work loads

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as the skills necessary to operate as a primary staff member or practitioner on various types of environmental projects

  • Short term travel is required

  • Must possess a valid Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., PE, CHMM, CSP) preferred

  • HAZWOPER 40-hour, and current on 8-hour refresher
