Home Depot FINANCIAL ANALYST, Credit Services in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

This position uses analytical methods and a variety of tools to understand, predict, improve and/or control departmental expenses and processes. Assists in the preparation of financial analysis and forecasts for use in the development of financial business decisions.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of expenses related to Financial Services’ operations.

  • Assist management and HDFS Interchange team with monthly/adhoc Cost of Acceptance reporting, Visa and MasterCard interchange impacts, and credit card fraud analysis.

  • In conjunction with banking partner and management, assist in evaluating key performance metrics of Home Depot’s Private Label credit portfolio.

  • Create monthly forecasts and annual plans for the department’s Credit Marketing, Private Label Program Incentive, and G&A expenses.

  • Use strategic thinking to see the big picture, identify problems and understand fundamental parts driving issues.

  • Prepare and deliver insights based on analysis. Synthesize findings and derive conclusions from analysis and make oral/written recommendations.

  • Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of developed data.

  • Execute tasks related to business projects and/or process improvements. Execute day to day processes related to areas of responsibility.

  • Communicate issues and roadblocks related to their areas of responsibility.

  • This position typically reports to a Manager or Senior Finance Manager.

  • This position typically has no direct reports.

  • Typically requires some persuasion or influencing of others.

  • Typically procedures for analyzing situations and making conclusions are very diverse.

  • Typically considers among many different options or procedures when solving problems.

  • Typically progress or results of work is periodically checked. Has some leeway to change work procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor' s degree in technical field of study, such as Accounting, Business, Finance or Mathematics.

  • 2 years of experience business, retail, and/or consulting is preferred

  • Payment Industry knowledge a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and, Word

  • Prior experience with SQL

  • Prior experience with Longview and SAP systems
