Job Description

In this role as project leader and lead technician for installation, you will be responsible for maintenance and administration of hundreds z/OS WebSphere v9.0 MQM’s and associated vendor products.

You will contribute to the coordination with other operations areas, such as Development, Network and Business teams, in resolving issues impacting the production WMQ environment.

Participate in the development of large scale TSO based ISPF Dialog that facilitates day-to-day operations, maintenance, and supports CICS and MQ address spaces.

In the event that a request is to be introduced as a routine service in production, perform such request as a data enhancement to a future Release. Support SDLC Activities.

Support ongoing Releases by following Verizon SDLC and Verizon’s policies and procedures, and completing appropriate activities and associated documentation, as defined in the appropriate methodology.

Position location can be in one of the following major cities: Orangeburg, NY, Tampa, FL, Colorado Springs, CO, Silver Spring, MD or Irvine CA.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Must have 5-10 years experience in the following:

  • MQ setup

  • configuration and design work.

  • JCL

  • TSO

  • REXX

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

Preferred experience

  • Assembly

  • SMPE

  • Dump reading
