The Manager, Finance Operations will be responsible for providing strategic direction and advising on architectural design of new global systems and supporting processes to meet the growing needs of the Connect organization within the broader Verizon Corporate systems landscape. This individual will also support the Connect CFO with researching business issues and proposing process and system changes to meet the overall accounting, business and tax requirements to support dynamic business operations. Key functions covered by the Connect financial systems include GL, A/P, A/R, order management, billing, revenue recognition management, fixed asset management, inventory, project management, service, procurement, banking/electronic payments.
The ideal candidate should have a solid background in Financial ERP systems and a passion for leveraging ERP system capabilities to solve business challenges. This role will work closely with executives and other stakeholders within the organization to develop efficient processes that leverage financial systems to streamline operations. Must have solid understanding of global business operations and related accounting/compliance/tax requirements to properly advise on appropriate systems. The candidate must have good communication skills and must be able to work in a team environment. He/she is a proven business partner with a passion for operational excellence, great attention to detail and a proven ability to lead effective teams.
Provide direction for global strategic planning to meet Connect dynamic business objectives
Effectively partner with and build solid working relationships with the business, corporate, tax and accounting counterparts and IT for successful project completion
Leverage ERP financial systems and data warehouse systems to provide meaningful information for key research, analysis and reporting for the Connect business
Evaluate financial systems to ensure compliance with the organization’s financial-related internal policies and other external regulations
Identifies accounting policy concerns and facilitates discussion to support new products and acquisitions
Provides subject matter expertise support during project requirement and design phases, on Financial Controls
Identify process improvement opportunities through analysis and ongoing dialogue with business partners
Effectively manage expectations of stakeholders, users and IT management with the ability to quickly assemble the “big picture” as needed
Identify opportunities for training during project rollouts, system implementations, and other process enhancements
Coordinate and/or provide timely communications with users to ensure knowledge of system and process changes
Provide ongoing updates to stakeholders to communicate the progress of programs/projects
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance or Business Administration
7+ years of relevant systems, programs or finance experience
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, global business operations and business intelligence analysis
Proven success in advising on system projects and other business transformational programs
Even better if you have:
Master’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance or Business Administration
Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional team environment
Excellent attention to detail and complex problem solving capabilities
Ability to adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced environment
