POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager Finance, Supply Chain Inventory role will serve as primary Finance liaison to the assigned Merchandising Department for inventory and supply chain expenses. The incumbent will provide financial leadership, direction, and analysis related to inventory and supply chain expenses, which impact the Merchandising organization s key metrics. The incumbent will personally own the creation and management of the Department s inventory budget, forecast, and reporting processes, but will collaborate with other members of the Supply Chain Finance team to understand the trends and impacts of the broader scope of supply chain expenses.

To achieve the stated objectives, it will be critical that the Manager collaborate, clearly communicate with, and influence cross-functional partners, up to and including executive level. This will require a thorough understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain impacts on Merchandising, an understanding of the tradeoffs associated with any decision, an ability to provide sound guidance and financial impact assessments to reach an informed recommendation, as well as an ability to effectively communicate those impacts and recommendations to help drive informed decisions.

Finally, the incumbent should have a deep understanding of financial budgeting and forecasting; be able to balance many competing priorities; be able to quickly synthesize information; develop cross-functional trust and collaboration; and influence in environments where he/she may not have the formal authority.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

30% - Completes weekly review of inventory position and adjusts forecast as needed to achieve desired forecast accuracy metrics

20% - Delivers insightful reporting and analytics, on an ongoing or ad hoc basis, related to inventory and Supply Chain expenses that yield recommendations to achieve primary goals

20% - Engages with peers in Supply Chain Finance to understand their perspective and accurately relay information to Merchandising and other business partners

10% - Assists with annual strategic planning process and builds inventory budget to achieve desired outcomes, balancing operational desires with financial targets

10% - Seeks to improve the processes and capabilities of the Supply Chain Finance organization to deliver the stated objectives of the group

10% - Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consist with established policies and raises concerns when warranted

This position reports to the Senior Finance Manager.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 7 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA Preferred

Prior budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience

Prior P&L management and/or accounting experience

Prior experience with extensive financial analysis and modeling

Excellent executive level communicator

Experience consulting or interfacing with multiple clients

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with Retail Accounting

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Fully understands inventory and all other Supply Chain expenses and how they impact the Merchandising organization

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.

Knowledge of core finance principles and metrics and their application (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial analysis)

Communication skills consistent with those required to effectively convey information and influence outcomes at a senior level of the organization

Relationship building skills; ability to relate to others, understand their point of view, navigate through conflict, and influence in situations that lead to a successful outcome

Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous situations and quickly synthesize information

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning

Project management skills; ability to prioritize and mult-task effectively.
