Home Depot Manager Payroll Systems in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

Develop and implement cost-effective systems, policies and procedures which (1) ensure that payrolls are issued in a timely and accurate manner for all of our employees in all of our business units, (2) provide both financial and management reporting for the purpose of updating financial statements and to assist in the management of store/SSC operations, and (3) ensure THD is in compliance with federal, state, and local statutory requirements, including reporting wage and employment information, remitting employee/employer taxes and various withholdings (i.e. garnishments) and maintaining employee/employer records.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Review, approve and coordinate projects related to the enhancement, modification, or implementation of payroll systems (applications: Tesseract, Kronos, SLE/, interfaces, Gates McDonald, Ceridian, ADP, etc.) and ancillary procedures.

  • Review payroll results and ensure adherence to payroll procedures.

  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry trends and innovations in the industry.

  • Develop ad-hoc reporting.

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • Typically reports to Director, Payroll Systems.

  • Direct and indirect reports typically include 2 managers/supervisors, 7 professionals, and 7 support associates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Must meet many, simultaneous demands for important decisions/actions and face some confrontations or other difficult situations and demands for results.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • HRIS or Workday Experience

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data with the goal of improving the customer experience and problem solving

  • Experience eliciting feedback on recommendations and fostering an environment of teamwork, customer satisfaction, communication, approachability, and empowerment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of multi-national payroll regulations and practices.

  • Excellent knowledge of mainframe and PC based applications.

  • Extensive project management experience.

  • Excellent accounting and G/L account reconciliation skills.

  • Strong financial analysis skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group presentation skills.
