Home Depot MGR CREATIVE STRATEGY in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager, Creative Strategy, Agile Marketing will manage and execute The Home Depot Agile Marketing team s content strategy. The Manager will oversee the development and stewardship of content for digital media channels.

This person will work across functional groups (e.g., Creative teams, media teams, customer insights, marketing analytics, DMP team, etc.) and external partners(agencies, publishers, etc.) to coordinate efforts and ensure success. Will be making decisions on the media types and creative executions against a set of customer profiles.

In addition, this role will build an intimate understanding of Agile Marketing team s communication goals, products, consumer behavior and business objectives and work to develop personas based on customer needs. Help research content marketing opportunities. Communicate insights and recommendations for creative strategy. Contribute to the Agile process development and specifically lead the creative process development and execution. Work with consumer insights team to establish consumer insights to inform creative strategy. Work with creative agency to execute creative strategy. Regularly collect and review consumer feedback, industry creative best practices and market conditions to develop actionable insights for marketing. Constantly monitor and measure creative performance for continual testing and optimization. Develop and leverage segmentation systems to more effectively target and message prime prospects.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 40%- Creative Strategy and Test Plan - Design/execute content strategies and test plans against a set of customer segments. Direct external agency and internal creative partners to produce or reuse assets

  • 20%- Creative Process - Manage production logistics and process for development of new content across digital advertising

  • 20%- Reporting/Metrics - Ensure content delivered on-time/budget & proper measurements are applied to determine the effectiveness of marketing spend & resources

  • 20%- Organizational Alignment/Relationships - Work cross-functionally w/stakeholders. Build relationships w/media, agencies & creative teams, merchandising marketing

NATURE AND SCOPE

Position reports to Senior Manager, Agile Marketing.

This position has no direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • 5-7+ years Social and Digital content and media experience

  • Understanding of the media landscape (social, programmatic / DSP, DMP and content marketing)

  • Agency experience is a plus

  • Media buying experience is a plus

  • Must be able to submit examples of campaigns and results of multi-faceted initiatives

  • Comfortable working in an unstructured environment and participating in highly technical conversations

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Graphic Design or Advertising

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of digital media platforms (social, display, video, etc.) and their respective participants and how they can be deployed in different scenarios

  • Creative expertise in digital media platforms including Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Blogs, Display, Digital Video. Comfortable taking a channel-agnostic approach to creative

  • Planning: Understands and builds a creative strategy that is innovative. Ability to execute from start to completion as well as weekly (daily) maintenance and updates to keep efforts current. Demonstrated ability to combine strategic planning with practical solutions

  • Project Management: Excels at establishing clear directions; lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner; maintains two-way dialog with others on work and results. Highly organized - with ability to combine strategic direction with hands-on tactical execution

  • Communication: Communicates clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect. Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • Strong technical and analytic skills: Fast learner and adopter of technology. Can contribute to analytical conversations and to campaign results outside of the content strategy

  • Team Player: Likes working on a team and has as start-up state of mind
