The Senior Network Architect/Engineer is responsible for developing architectural standards and solutions for our various Network technologies for both internal and with customer networks. Specific responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and design of key Data Center network technologies working closely with the information security group. Evaluate new technologies and vendors to meet specific business requirements and provide cost effective optimized solutions for the Marsh ClearSight enterprise. Communicate proposed designs & solutions to senior management in written and verbal presentations and display financial knowledge in the area of network services. Serve as subject matter expert: keep current with and engage with key vendors to derive the appropriate technology, facilitate proof of concept testing of proposed solutions, and act as a consultative resource to the business units and level 3 support to the customers, support/service delivery and operations groups. Designing end to end application and data security Supporting application migration projects including optimizing technical reliability and improving application performance Implementing cost optimized solutions (based on usage, business requirements and budget) QualificationsQualifications
10+ years network architecture & design experience in a global environment. In-depth knowledge of Firewalls, Load Balancers, Web Application Firewalls, perimeter and internal protection of customer data Knowledgeable to design, maintain and recommend technologies like Cisco IOS, load balancing (F5s and Cisco CSS), LAN/WAN deployment and administration, MPLS transport, network protocols (ATM, Frame Relay, SONET, Ethernet, TCP/IP, HSRP), 82.11a/g wireless deployment Proven experience in cloud infrastructure project deals for cloud assessments and cloud migrations Ability to push a point/right solution to different stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) A strong background in end to end infrastructure technologies and architecture, ideally from more than one company Cloud expertise gained from production application deployment, proven experience of delivering complex cloud project engagements Possess the ability to clearly articulate the pros and cons of technology choices and solution design decisions and to construct and present rational options to clients and prospective clients on the options they have; Have a focus on getting the job done and done properly; Be willing to learn, grow and stretch into new roles and different industries/domains; Understanding of hybrid cloud solutions and experience of integrating public cloud into tradition hosting/delivery models Strong understanding of cloud migration techniques (on premise to Cloud Platforms) High Availability and Disaster recovery implementations Experience of designing and implementing application and infrastructure monitoring solutions
Experience architecting and deploying multi-tiered applications. Experience in architecting security architectures across infrastructure and applications Experience in performance tuning, including the following ; (load balancing, web servers, content delivery Networks, Caching (Content and API)) Good understanding of application architectures Ability to switch between high level and detailed administration as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentations and extensive design and architecture documentation development Ability to multi-task, interface with multiple technical & non-technical teams and lead projects in a global matrix organizational environment. Bachelor in Engineering or Computer Science.
