This is an exciting opportunity based in Atlanta, GA for a Parts Manager.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • To plan and maintain dailysupply chain operations for critical suppliers or customers in materials,production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management, ororder fulfillment. Ensures internal and external customers' expectationsand requirements are met.

  • Achieving and continuouslyimproving customer service levels, and/or manage inventory levels andtargets, and managing supply and demand within the Supply Chain.

  • Ensures internal andexternal customers' expectations and requirements are met.

  • Manage the daily operationalprocesses for a critical segment of the supply chain.

  • Eliminate potential supplychain failures as part of the daily planning process.

  • Champion preventivepractices to eliminate expediting to supply chain leadership asappropriate to prevent problems.

  • Lead cross functionalstakeholders to develop and implement short and mid-term tactical improvements

  • Complies with communicationplans and processes to ensure stakeholders’ needs are met.

  • Leverage common processestools, and information systems

  • Approve system strategiesand advise on changes to planning systems parameters as required.

  • Analyze and interpret KPIsto identify areas for improvement and action plans.

  • Lead Six Sigma andfunctional process improvement teams.

  • Liaise with functionalstakeholders to mitigate mid-term supplier or customer constraints.

  • Mentor and coach supplychain planners.

  • Ensure common processes arebeing utilized and internal controls are in place

  • 20-25% travel may berequired for training and/or conferences.


Skills and ExperienceRequired

  • Analytical Reasoning -Applies basic research methodologies and statistical analysis to solveproblems. Synthesizes and analyzes low to moderately complex data,information and evidence in order to draw meaningful conclusions.

  • Project Management - Has agood understanding of and effectively applies project managementtechniques in low to moderately complex projects.

  • Supply Chain Knowledge -Works in or with the Supply Chain functions and has knowledge of how thefunctions work to meet our end customer’s requirements.

  • Manage Execution - Solidunderstanding of how to manage execution. Manages the performance of selfand others through the use of structured tools. Delegates effectively andregularly with solid support and follow through. Uses defined processes tomanage execution.

  • Fosters Open Communication -Demonstrated results indicating deep knowledge of fostering opencommunication. Expresses reactions and opinions without intimidatingothers. Actively encourages others to express their honest views, evencontrary ones and listens actively to all viewpoints. Encourages others toshare information in an organized and effective manner. Conducts periodicdepartment or division wide informational meetings. Develops processes,plans, and schedules to provide relevant information and obtain feedbackfrom the organization.

  • Inventory Control AndManagement - Understand inventory control and management principals andhow they impact the local and global supply chain. Understand how theinventory management principles and objectives must tie together to insurecontinuity in the supply chain.

  • Supplier PerformanceManagement - I understand functional roles and responsibilities requisiteto appropriately manage supplier performance and I fulfill myresponsibilities; I ensure suppliers understand their performancedeficiencies and Cummins expectations relative to continuous improvement.

  • Production Planning -Specialized training in line balancing, inventory planning, scheduling,etc. Able to effectively use these tools to adjust to changes inproduction in the current system. Able to implement changes withappropriate support.

  • Focus on Customer needs -Familiar with key Cummins customers. Knowledge would include businessstrategies, organizational structures, geographic footprints, financialresults, internal processes, and primary needs for effective segmentation.

  • Cross Functional knowledge -Understands the basic high-level tasks for each functional area(Marketing, Technical, Purchasing, Planning & Logistics, etc)

Required Education,Licenses or Certifications

  • Bachelor of Science (orequivalent degree) in Business Administration or related field is preferred.


  • Intermediate level (3years’) of relevant experience required, including managerial / supervisoryexperience.

Compensation andBenefits

Base Salary commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
