AECOM Senior Construction Inspector in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • In tandem with management, continue develop of CM and CEI business growth strategy

  • Implementation of CM/CEI best practices for Georgia transportation projects

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with clients

  • Coordination with local governments

  • Perform complex independent inspections of roadways and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract

  • Perform complex inspections and conduct routine and standardized inspections; this includes inspecting asphalt and concrete for acceptable materials and mix; pavement for proper spreading, rolling, depth, alignment, and compaction; roadways and structures for conformance to plans and specifications; structural materials and members;placement of culverts; structural operations such as foundation excavation; placement of piling, reinforcing and structural steel, concrete and backfill; and traffic control and erosion control devices

  • Perform a complex variety of calculations and computations

  • Perform contract documentation duties, which may include field measurements of pay items as well as other department required documentation

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 8 + years of experience

  • Knowledge of transportation construction, operations and maintenance project delivery

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Client relationship development

  • Successful project delivery track record

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must poses a valid driver's license

  • Ability to oversee and develop inspectors and aides

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction engineering, Civil engineering, construction management or other related field required

  • Experience in GDOT Construction and Maintenance

  • Knowledge of GDOT Construction related software
