POSITION PURPOSE

We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead supply chain development efforts for bulk distribution centers (BDC) as we design, build, and roll out of 40 new flatbed distribution centers. These new distribution centers will deliver goods to stores and customers. This position will teach teams how to open and run bulk distribution center operations (BDC), focused on store delivery.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Distribution/4 wall operations

  • Training

  • Relocating DCs

  • Warehouse management systems

  • Project management

  • Implementation

  • Change Management

  • Building relationships and work cross functionally

Provide support and direction for area's efforts.

Manage all aspects of assigned area's of operations and programs.

Participate in strategic planning and facilitate action on these plans for the assigned area. Provide technical logistics expertise on assigned area as well as store/retail expertise as needed..

Plan resources in order to complete competing priorities within the provided timeframe. Prepare project design and timelines.

Select, develop, and motivate assigned staff. May have limited authoirty to negotiate transportation costs for in-bound and/or outbound freight.

NATURE AND SCOPE

Reports to Senior Director of Supply Chain Development

Responsible for hiring a team of direct reports

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Up to 75%

Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 6 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ten or more years of experience

Graduate Degree

Experience in the Logistics field

Management experience

Experience in supply chain operation

Retail experience

Experience as a team leader in supply chain operations

Ability to complete projects through a variety of different people in various departments who do not directly report to the team leader.

Business acumen and strategic thinking skills.

Well-developed presentation skills (oral and written).

Computer skills, specifically PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Experience as a team leader in supply chain operations.

Ability to complete projects through a variety of different people in various departments who do not directly report to the team leader.

Business acumen and strategic thinking skills.

Experience in the Logistics field

Management experience

Ability to maintain composure and productivity in a dynamic environment.

Ability to be deadline oriented with long and short-term projects.

Ability to approach problems systematically.

Ability to independently identify what needs to be done, build a plan, and execute.
