Home Depot Senior Manager, Merchandising Operations in Atlanta, Georgia

POSITION PURPOSE

The Senior Manager, Merchandising Operations is responsible for leading a team to implement projects and drive key initiatives within the Home Services organization. Key responsibilities include guiding the strategy, planning, data analysis, reporting, and projects to support the Home Services business. The team serves as the merchant’s primary support for setting up and maintaining assortments through data management, responding to field associates and vendors, and providing analytical support to help the merchant achieve their sales and profit plans. Additionally, this role will be responsible for leading process and system improvement initiatives, working with cross-functional partners to provide data driven insight, resolution recommendations and driving change management.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

25%-Cross functional collaboration with Program Merchants, IT, Operations Center and Field Management facilitate and manage the architecture of new catalog builds for new vendors as they are on-boarded.

10%-Supervises two salaried associates that are responsible for managing price models to produce accurate retail pricing and supporting documentation for all programs. Also develop and integrate new line item proposal structures within catalogs as required by Program Merchants.

10%-Manages Light Commercial bid process, ensuring accurate calculations to produce desired profitability for the company.

20%-Catalogs ? Ensures updates on line extensions, new vendors/products, products updates, vendor changes, etc. Ensure merchants validate catalog content, merchant validation, merchandising ops to test and validate catalog. Collaborate with field partners to develop and roll-out training; with vendors & Merchants to update catalogs.

20%-Responsible for program management, development, training, negotiations, vendor relationships, updates and maintenance of specific product line(s).

15%-Price book maintenance with internal infrastructure (LMS) and automated catalog structure (touch quote). Collaborates with merchants and IT to design and implement a drawing/pricing/measures tool. Ensures systems are updated with pricing line item proposals and ensure retail pricing is accurate.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 7 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Ability to work a flexible, 55 hours per week schedule

  • Problem Solving and Process improvement - Six Sigma Black or Green Belt ideal

  • Data Architecture experience

  • Strong project management / PMP certification ideal

  • Merchandising, Pricing, and Assortment planning experience
