We are looking for a Senior Virtualization Administrator with extensive experience designing, managing, upgrading, and monitoring a Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure using VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco UCS, and Networking. If you have experience with best practices within Virtual Compute and Storage Administration, we want to talk with you.
Collaborate with the Capacity Manager, Infrastructure Manager, and Data Storage Manager to design Best In Class solutions for growing our Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure to accommodate our yearly anticipated growth
Upgrade the existing VMware vSphere infrastructure from our current running version, and keep the installations upgraded going forward.
Manage the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure to achieve 99.99% availability.
Monitor the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure, using vRealize, to identify potential resource shortfalls and take corrective action before availability is impacted.
Build or implement tools and frameworks in support of the above responsibilities.
Continuous learning and innovation in support of the above responsibilities.
Design, build, and test on a regular basis disaster recovery plans for maintaining availability of the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure.
Other responsibilities may be assigned to you as business requirements dictate.
Has the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and environments including applications, and networking components to improve stability of the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure across multiple data centers.
Work with external vendors and internal teams to design systems, develop and maintain scripts, and automation in support of the availability goals for the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure.
Leverage existing applications, tools and device REST APIs to automate above responsibilities and duties.
Coordinate with ITSM and other technical staff to implement changes to the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure.
Document processes, procedures, configurations, and deployment plans.
Setup, configure and maintain monitoring tools.
Be available as required to support the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure.
Share knowledge and mentor other members of the SysOps team with the end goal that the team members can provide technical support and troubleshooting for the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure in the event of your unavailability.
Other duties as assigned by management from time to time.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
10+ year experience performing the above listed duties and responsibilities in the capacity of a Senior Virtualization Administrator for VMware, AWS, or both.
Complete understanding of thin and thick provisioning both on VMware and Storage Arrays.
Working knowledge of Cisco N1000v.
VCP certification required, VCAP certification preferred.
Even better if you have
Extensive experience administering cloud technologies (e.g. Docker Engine, Mesos, Swarm, CNI/CNM models, Docker Registry, OpenStack, and SDN integration) as part of an integrated Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure.
Experience with DevOps automation toolsets and their usage (e.g. Ansible, Docker Compose, Chef, Puppet), Preferably with Ansible
Extensive experience working with Block Storage Systems such as EMC VMAX, EMC XtremIO, and EMC Unity and Network Storage Systems such as EMC Isilon, and others.
Responsible for maintaining the 99.99% availability of the Virtual Compute and Storage Infrastructure; typically reports to Manager (Band 6).

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Generally, requires minimum of 10 years’ experience in same or related discipline
