Job Description

The Technical Sales Manager will build and cultivate a vibrant technical sales organization responsible for developing solutions that drive client value and IBM revenue opportunity. In this capacity, you will help clients integrate new technologies such as Blockchain, Spark and Cloud with core mainframe systems for competitive advantage. This role is tasked with leading the IBM Technical Sales team and driving Technical Accelerators needed to meet/exceed sales revenue commitments for mainframe software and hardware. The role is responsible for taking advantage of IBM and IBM’s business partner ecosystem to deliver innovative solutions to clients that result in opportunities across the full portfolio of analytics, systems, security and cloud software offerings. Along with Software, the Z Techical Sales Manager will also lead efforts to sell new Z infrastructure for both zOS and Linux-based workloads. The technical team is always on the leading edge of technology and champions efforts as it relates to emerging technologies and growth initiatives. This role provides technical sales leadership for IBM's enterprise accounts. This position supports clients in the Industrial industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a world-class Technical Sales Organization.

  • Deliver effective Proof of Concept (POC), Proof of Technology (POT), Demonstration, and Client Workshops that close and deliver committed revenue.

  • Lead client deployment and adoption to drive client success and secure future SW and HW sales.

  • Ensure appropriate deploy and adoption plans are included with complex solution sales demonstrating IBM services offerings.

  • Bring to bear IBM and IBM Business Partner resources to drive client satisfaction and revenue results.

  • Create and promote a Technical Sales culture focused on Solution Selling that results in client success.

  • Lead new emerging technology and growth play initiatives for IBM SW and HW Sales.

  • Build a technical team that takes pride in their technical acumen and consistently delivers new Opportunity Identification to the business.

  • Create a culture of continuous learning that promotes IBM’s technology leadership position.

  • Deliver technical sales success using data driven approaches

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 3 years of experience with Enterprise Software or Hardware Sales.

  • Minimum of 3 years expertise with mainframe systems.

  • 2 or more years of professional background and expertise in analytics, cloud middleware, integration or systems SW.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional background selling Enterprise Software.

  • Minimum of 3 years expertise with technical leadership.

  • At least 3 years of professional exposure with IT Architecture.
