Home Depot Technology Coordination Manager in Atlanta, Georgia
The Technology Coordination Manager is responsible for supporting teams through project management activities. Technology Coordination Managers typically support high complexity projects in a vendor facing capacity. They are also responsible for managing, guiding, and developing more junior team members.
Above and beyond standard project and program management related tasks, the Technology Coordination Manager plays a strategic role in the engagement of 3rd party vendors and the management of those relationships. In addition, they look across projects with a focus on the identification of common roadblocks and collaborate with Sr. Managers to mitigate risk and standardize best practices.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
40% - Delivery & Execution:
Executes project scoping and manages scope for medium to large complexity projects
Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met
Creates, monitors, tracks, and adjusts project plans based on critical milestones
Conducts budget planning and manages budget
Completes toll gate artifacts (Charter, Business Acceptance Document, etc.)
Conducts cost benefit analysis and justification of findings
Develops and communicates status updates highlighting any potential issues, including schedule, resource, cost, and risks
Documents and applies lessons learned to subsequent projects
Forecasts timelines, budget needs, and resource needs with accuracy
Regularly and actively contributes to alignment activities across projects
Understands organizational goals to apply to project work
Ensures all systems are updated on a standard cadence (e.g. financials) and that all project artifacts are created and posted to centralized repositories
15% - Monitoring:
Identifies, defines, and mitigates risks
Manages projects in adherence with The Home Depot's compliance regulations
Captures and drives issues to resolution
30% - Strategy & Planning:
Maintains vendor relationships
Partners with other leaders to make suggestions on pricing negotiations, SLAs, resource plans, etc.
Proactively manages, mitigates, and communicates vendor-related risks
Manages the purchase order and invoicing process with 3rd party vendors
Proactively plans for and identifies trends and common road blocks within and across projects
Collaborates with peers and Sr. Managers to create standards and processes that mitigate negative impact
15% - People:
Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to Project Managers
Attracts, retains, and develops top talent
Conducts annual and mid-year reviews, reviewing individual development plans and providing performance feedback
Acts as a proponent of project management best practices
Facilitates the onboarding and ramp up of new project team members
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to the Technology Coordination Sr. Manager, Technology Director or Sr. Director.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
5-7 years of relevant work experience
Experience working as a project manager
Proficient in the planning and execution of projects and risk mitigation strategies
Proficient in project management execution in modern software environment via multiple methodologies
Experience using Microsoft Office tools
Experience managing and growing team members in a professional setting
